The Malaysian Legend

The sudden demise of Yasmin Ahmad has left a big hole in film maker industry and felt in millions of the Malaysian people. I choose to write about her because I think that she was a huge inspiration that unite the Malaysian's film industry from then until now.

Yasmin Ahmad is one of the directors I look up to, as for me, her work have a lot of messages which revolves around the Malaysians culture. She has brought a remarkable story telling which for me is fascinating and full of humor. Yasmin Ahmad was known by the Malaysians for her humorous television commercials and films that touches million with the messages that is conveyed in each and every piece of her work between cultures, races and religions.

Yasmin was born in Muar, Johor and began her career as copywriter at Ogilvy and Mather. Soon after that, she moved to Leo Burnett as joint creative director and eventually rising to executive director at the firm's located in the heart of Malaysia.
